Rehabilitation team for cancer patients

Services

Oncology rehabilitation team provides rehabilitation and counselling for individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Rehabilitation is offered regardless of treatment or disease stage, with priority given to those experiencing severe symptoms that impair daily life and quality of life.

Services provided by the rehabilitation team:

  • Individualized Rehabilitation: A tailored plan is developed for each patient based on their needs. The plan is followed up with consultations and phone calls.

  • Education and Counseling: Information and guidance are offered to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

  • Development and Research: The team develops clinical guidelines, participates in research, and stays up-to-date with innovations in rehabilitation.

  • Collaboration: Emphasis is placed on cooperation within and outside the hospital to ensure the best possible service.

The team’s goal is to provide holistic rehabilitation that supports patients at all stages of their illness.

Referrals

  • Requests should be submitted to the team through the Saga System.

  • Guidelines for assessment and referral for staff are available in the Landspítali Quality Manual.

The team evaluates requests within one week and provides a written response.
