Premature Baby Team - Children's Hospital

Services

We provide specialized follow-up and support for premature infants and their families. The main focus is on monitoring the child's health and development, as well as screening for and treating problems that may arise in premature babies.

The service is for children and their families, for children

  • born before 32 weeks of gestation.

  • with birth weight under 1500 grams.

Monitoring

Upon discharge from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), families are referred to the team for follow-up at the Children's Hospital outpatient clinic, where the family:

  • meets with a doctor, nurse, and physiotherapist.

  • receives counseling from a dietitian, speech therapist, psychologist, and others as needed.

The children come in for regular check-ups during the first two years of their life. Further follow-up is provided as needed by the child and parents.
