The Pediatric Ward is an inpatient unit for children admitted upon referral from a physician.
The ward provides specialized medical and nursing care for children up to the age of 18 with various health conditions and diseases, including cancer, diabetes, heart diseases, neurological disorders, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal conditions, infections, and more. Additionally, children stay in the ward for post-surgical recovery.
The ward offers multidisciplinary and family-centred care, with safety, professionalism, and compassion as guiding principles. Facilities are designed to accommodate a parent staying with their child around the clock.
Child Wellbeing
The Children’s Hospital (Barnaspítali Hringsins) operates in accordance with the Child Well-being Act, which ensures that children and their families receive the right support, at the right time, from the appropriate service provider.
