Goals of Occupational therapy is to enhance and maintain physical, mental, and social skills for daily life.
At Landakot, elderly patients are admitted from other hospital departments or directly from home. The focus is on health assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation.

task analysis, observations, and interviews.
Need for assistive devices and whether a home assessment is required.
Driving abilities in collaboration with driving instructors, when applicable.
Theoretical approach
The intervention model used is OTIPM (Occupational Therapy Intervention Process Model), which integrates multiple approaches tailored to different patient groups and circumstances. Other applied models include:

Assessment of therapy Needs
Inpatient & Day Units: Needs are assessed in collaboration with the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
Outpatient Clinics: Occupational therapists receive referrals for patients requiring assessment, including memory clinic patients. All patients visiting the falls and bone health clinic receive occupational therapy services.
