Medicines Committee
About the committee
The Medicines Committee of Landspítali works towards the safe and rational use of medicines at Landspítali and other public healthcare institutions. The goal is to ensure the safety of medicine management and to balance professional and financial responsibility when selecting and using medicines.
Among the tasks of the Medicines Committee:
Determine the use of medicines in public healthcare institutions, including prescription drugs.
Assess whether and in what way medicines benefit patients.
Develop guidelines and priority lists for medicines in relation to financial resources for the implementation and use of medicines in healthcare services.
Create and manage a list of medicines for public healthcare institutions.
