People are our greatest asset – for the benefit of our patients

  • Landspítali’s human resources are the hospital’s most important asset and the foundation for outstanding healthcare services.​

  • The Human Resources Policy supports the role, future vision and values of the hospital.​

  • The aim of the policy is to create an attractive workplace and a shared vision for how Landspítali attracts, develops and retains qualified staff.​

  • At Landspítali, the patient is always our foremost priority. To ensure high-quality services and patient safety, we support our staff and foster professionalism, wellbeing and welfare.

The policy is built around seven key areas:

  • Our leaders play a key role in creating a positive workplace culture, supporting staff and leading the delivery of outstanding services.

  • We are committed to providing new staff with a structured welcome, training and support that promote safety and success in their roles.
