A child diagnosed with diabetes and their family receives structured education and support from the professional in the team.
Regular follow-up takes place at the children's outpatient clinic
There, children and their families meet with:
a nurse and a doctor.
a social worker, dietitian, and psychologist as needed for each individual.
The team also holds workshops at the Children's Hospital for staff from schools, recreation centers, and sports clubs. Information is provided by the team's staff.
Dropinn Summer Camp
Dropinn is an association for children with diabetes and their families in Iceland. The Dropinn Summer Camp is part of the team's work. There, children can learn about diabetes and have fun in a safe environment, while forming important friendships and support networks.
