Hepatitis C – no vaccine available.

HPV (human papilloma virus):

Gardasil is given to adolescents from the age of nine to protect against the following diseases caused by certain types of HPV (human papillomavirus):

  • Precancerous lesions in the cervix, vulva, vagina, and anus.

  • Cervical and anal cancers.

  • Genital warts.

Cervarix is given to adolescents from the age of nine to protect against the following diseases caused by certain types of HPV (human papillomavirus):

  • Cancer of the cervix or anus.

  • Precancerous lesions (abnormal cell growth) in the genital area (cervix, vulva, vagina, or anus).
