The Eating Disorder Team is a specialized outpatient team that intervenes in cases where a child or adolescent is likely to have an eating disorder.
If you suspect an eating disorder, please contact your healthcare provider who will assess the need for refferal to the service.
The Eating Disorder Team provides both diagnosis and treatment
The treatment aims to help the child/adolescent cope with the illness with the support of parents and professionals.
The emphasis is on the child and parents learning new and better ways to cope with the eating disorder and gaining better insight into which factors are hindering recovery.
The goal is to strengthen self-esteem, body image, social skills, and family communication in order to improve well-being and long-term quality of life.
