Quality and Supervisory Authority of Welfare

Role

The Welfare Quality and Inspection Authority (GEV) became operational on 1 January 2022. The agency is based on the Quality and Supervisory Authority for Social Services and Child Protection and is independent in its work, but is under the authority of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Role

  • Strengthen the foundations of comprehensive services of the state and municipalities.

  • Improve quality and safety of services in collaboration with service providers and users.

  • Monitoring that services are provided in accordance with law and international treaties.

Vision

  • Be an important part of the quality and control system of public services.

  • Promote empowerment and improved quality of life for individuals.

  • Promote accessible and secure services that meet the personal needs of each individual.

  • Consider the knowledge and experience of sister institutions.

  • Emphasis is placed on the use of proven measuring instruments in monitoring services.

Goals

  • Promote and coordinate professional supervision of the quality of welfare services.

The Welfare Quality and Inspection Authority shall monitor the quality of services provided on the basis of the following Act:
