The main tasks of the Welfare Quality and Inspection Authority are to:
develop quality criteria based on the best possible knowledge of policy areas in the Institute's project area
granting individual licences and monitoring compliance with the conditions of individual licences
monitor the quality of services and perform other regulatory tasks
receiving and processing complaints from service users
collecting information, keeping records and processing information from those subject to the control of the Agency
perform other tasks assigned to the Agency as determined by the Minister
issue licences from the Government Agency for Child Protection and the Quality and Control Agency for Social Services and Child Protection
Supervisory obligations of others
All providers of services subject to the supervision of the Welfare Quality and Inspection Authority shall provide services in accordance with the provisions of the standards of the welfare system.

The oversight by the Welfare Quality and Inspection Authority does not replace the oversight entrusted to other authorities by law and thus does not relieve other authorities of the filter's obligations to monitor government activities, irrespective of whether the activity is carried out by the authority.
