The Directorate of Labour operates 9 offices throughout the country with headquarters in Reykjavík. The offices have a common telephone number:

The telephone centre is open Monday to Thursday from 9 to 15 and Friday from 9 to 12

Unemployment benefits are paid on the first working day of each month.

In order to guarantee payments, you must confirm your job search on my pages between the 20th and the 25th of each month.

If confirmation is made:

between the 25th and 3rd of the following month, payment will be 5 working days after the end of the month.
after the 3rd of the following month, payment is made at the end of the following month.
