The Java catch certificate system will remain open until January 6th, 2026
The closure of the Java catch certificate system, which was scheduled for this coming December 1st, has been postponed until January 6th, 2026.
New EU requirements for catch certificates will take effect on January 10th, 2026, and from that time, the appearance of catch certificates will change in accordance with the new requirements, and the Java system does not support that change.
It is important to ensure continuity of service and prevent disruptions when the Java catch certificate system is permanently shut down. The Directorate of Fisheries therefore encourages all parties to get accustomed to using the web-based catch certificate system now or as soon as technical solutions have been implemented.
All information on logging into the new system, along with instructions on its use, can be found in the article on catch certificates.
