Terms of Use
The Icelandic Audio Library is a governmental organization whose legal role is to make printed material accessible to those who cannot interpret written material in print form.
The Icelandic Audio Library is not open to the public. Library materials are only available to registered members who have provided proof of print disability.
The Icelandic Audio Library reserves the right to carry out checks on whether users are following the terms and conditions of the library. Distribution of material to people who are not registered members constitutes a violation of copyright and may result in fines. Loans to members are recorded and traceable.
Membership may be cancelled if suspicion arises that a member of the library has failed to comply with the terms and conditions of the library. Members of the library must treat materials with respect both with respect to the author and narrator(s). All relevant legislation must be complied with.
There is an annual library charge for those aged 18 and over, in accordance with the provisions on charges in article 19 of the Libraries Act 2012 no. 150.
Members of the library must inform the library of any changes to their personal details, such as address, e-mail, or telephone number.
Applicants for membership (or, in the case of children, a parent/guardian) must sign a declaration confirming that they have read and understood the terms and conditions of the library. Changes may be made to the terms and conditions at any time and without prior notification.
