Financial aid for organ donation

You can apply for temporary financial assistance from the Social Insurance Administration for a absence from work or study due to an organ donation.

Conditions

To apply for financial aid for the donation of an organ, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

• have legal domicile in Iceland,

• are unable to work because of the donation,

• interrupting your studies for organ donation.

Payment arrangements

You can receive payments for up to 3 months and the payments are paid afterwards at the end of the month.

Payments cancelled or no right available

Your right to payment will be suspended or will not be available if you are:

• on unemployment benefits during the same period,

• receive maternity or child-birth allowance,

• receive pension payments from TR,

• receive parental allowances from TR.
