Financial aid for organ donation

All applications must be accompanied by the following documents and applicants must meet the following conditions.

Conditions

The condition for payments to donors in training is that:

• have been in 75-100% of the course for 6 months of the 12 months preceding the break,

• have legal residence in Iceland when you are interrupted from studying for the purpose of donating an organ and the period for which you are paid.

An exemption from the legal domicile requirement may be granted if the donor temporarily moved his legal domicile due to study abroad after having been domiciled in Iceland continuously for at least 5 years previously.

Supporting data

The application must be accompanied by the following documents:

• a certificate from the specialist responsible for the donation stating the period of time that the donor has to stop studying;

• confirmation from the school that the donor has interrupted his studies;

• confirmation from school of previous school attendance of the donor,

• income plan,

• information on the possible use of personalised discounts, the use can be registered.

Amount

A student may be entitled to a fixed payment per month before tax.
