Kilometer fee on vehicles temporarily imported to Iceland

If the kilometer reading is not recorded upon entry or departure the charge will be imposed based on fixed kilometers and an estimate.

Vehicles under 10 tonnes

For vehicles under 10 tonnes, the fixed charged must be paid at the highest rate. In addition, 500 ISK must be paid for each day beyond 30 days.

Vehicles 10 tonnes and heavier

If the registration of the odometer reading does not occur upon arrival, the average driving is estimated by the National Tax Authority as follows:

• 200 km driven per day for the first 10 days.

• 100 km driven per day for the next 10 days.

• 60 km driven per day thereafter.
