Information for foster parents
Foster parents take care of children for a short or long time, depending on the child's circumstances. The reasons for fostering a child may be the child's difficulties, poor upbringing circumstances, or both. You can find more information about different kinds of foster care and the roles of foster parents.
Foster parents go through a competence assessment and must have obtained a permit to take a child into foster care. The Child Protection Services are responsible for assigning the care of a child to foster parents, and in the subcategories of this page you can find more information on how people become foster parents.
