Hunting Card

All hunters of birds and mammals in the country must hold a valid hunting card. When applying for a hunting card for the first time, hunters must undergo an examination. Foreign hunters must have a gun license, a hunting card, and an Icelandic citizen reference.

Hunting cards can be fetched from My pages in Ísland.is and soon also from the Ísland.is app.

Hunting cards are valid from April 1st for a year. A renewal is required for hunting.
