The Directorate of Immigration recommends that the service fee for expedited processing be paid at the same time as the handling fee for a residence permit application. In total, this amounts to 64 000 ISK.

Note that you only have the option to pay a service fee for expedited processing when you apply for a residence permit based on work.

For paper applications it is necessary to pay the processing fee by bank transfer and attach the payment receipt to the application for confirmation. Instructions on how to make a bank transfer is available on the Directorate's site on Fees.

Note that digital online applications shall not be paid for by means of bank transfers. Such applications are paid for in the last step of the online application procedure.
