Do I need to use your form to give power of attorney?

No, you do not need to use the Directorate of Immigration's form for power of attorney. You are free to use any kind of document to authorize another person to represent you with respect to matters concerning the Directorate of Immigration.

However, you must ensure that all necessary information is provided in the document, such as:

  • Who authorizes (applicant),

  • who is authorized (agent),

  • which security number is to be used when communicating with the Directorate,

  • signature of the authorizing party (applicant), and

  • signatures of two witnesses to the applicant's signature.
