You can apply for expedited processing if you are applying for a residence permit based on work. The expedited processing costs ISK 48,000 in addition to the general handling fee. Total 64,000 kr.

Note that the expedited processing only covers the processing of applications for work permits from the Directorate of Labour and residence permits from the Directorate of Immigration. The accelerated procedure does not apply to the issue of an entry visa, a photo appointment, the issue of a residence permit card or an identification number (kennitala).

Expedited processing is not available when applying for a residence permit other than on the basis of employment.
