In the allocation for 2025 - 2026, the emphasis is on projects that promote improved tourist safety. The fund's quality assessment will take this emphasis into account, and applicants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with all available materials.

Applicants are asked to choose the applicable form depending on the nature of their project.:

  • I. Additions (e.g. new tourist destinations, or new services or facilities at a already defined tourist destination).

  • II. Improvements (e.g. safety related improvements or increased capacity).

Who can apply?

Municipalities and private parties can apply.

How to apply

Applications are submitted electronically, with two separate forms depending on the nature of the project (see above).

Note that the login time in the application system is 45 minutes from the moment you click on the "Vista og áfram" button. After that, the applicant must log in again. We strongly recommend clicking on the "Vista og áfram" button regularly in order for the applicant to remain registered.

After the application is submitted, the option „Sækja öll gögn umsóknar á pdf“ appears. We strongly recommend that the applicant use this option and save the data.
