Performing Arts Fund Grants

Closed for applications / Estimated to open in August 2026

Applicants are encouraged not to submit their application on the last day.

The goal is to promote the performing arts and create favorable conditions for them.

Grants are awarded for individual projects by professional performing arts groups. An application to the Performing Arts Fund can also serve as an application for the Artist's Salary if specified on the application form. The Performing Arts Council allocates grants to support professional performing arts groups.

Who can apply?

  • Professional performing arts groups.

  • Other legal entities (e.g., production companies) can apply on behalf of professional performing arts groups.

How to apply

Applications are submitted through the Rannís electronic application system (My Pages on the Rannís website), see instructions. Only applications and attachments submitted through the application system will be accepted.

Participants' CV must be included with the application, either compiled into a single PDF document or referenced via links.

Other supporting documents for the application could include confirmations from partners, scripts, and the like.

Supporting documents, whether new or corrected, will not be accepted after the application deadline.

On page 4.3 of the Performing Arts Fund application, it is possible to apply to the Performing Artists' Salary Fund. The artist salary applied for does not reduce the amount applied for from the Performing Arts Fund (new), but if awarded, it will reduce the maximum possible grant from the Performing Arts Fund by that amount.

Applications may be in Icelandic or English.
