You may request an amendment to a debt adjustment agreement during the debt mitigation period if special or unforeseen circumstances arise that weaken your ability to comply with the agreement or that otherwise make it necessary to change the terms of the agreement.

It is important that a request for amendment reaches the Debtors' Ombudsman (UMS) before the debt mitigation period comes to an end.

The UMS assesses whether the conditions for amending the contract have been met.

  • It is possible to obtain a payment deferral on up to three due dates under the agreement without the change being submitted to creditors.

  • Should another type of amendment be required, such as a longer payment deferral or an amendment to the terms of the agreement, the amendment shall be submitted to the creditors who lodged claims
