Changes in registration of a taxi operating permit - Lost license card

Holders of taxi operating permits who wish to change their registration with a taxi station must apply for such a change with the Icelandic Transport Authority. This form can also be used to request a new license card if the original has been lost.

Please note that amendments to the Taxi Act No. 120/2022 is effective from June 1st 2026. Further information on the main changes is available on the website of the Icelandic Transport Authority.

Supporting documents

It is important to submit all supporting documents with an application.

• Copy of a signed contract with a taxi station that has a permit from ICETRA

Processing of applications

• When documents are missing or conditions are not fulfilled ICETRA notifies the applicant via email

• The license card issued due to a change has the same expiration date as the current taxi permit

Cost

• The cost of a new license card is according to the tariff of ICETRA and is 5.330 ISK.
