Spike strips
Examples of situations where the police can put a spike strip on the street to stop a car are:
If the driver does not listen to the stop signals of the police,
to prevent drivers from causing damage to people,
to ensure important evidence of serious crime,
to ensure the vital public interest.
Road closings
Police are authorised to block roads with heavy vehicles or other barriers crossing the road to stop cars if the driver has not complied with stop signs of the police.
Hitting a car
The police have the power to stop a vehicle by driving a police car to it in order to prevent further driving.
This method should only be applied if:
it is considered necessary to stop the driving immediately,
other methods are not sufficient and there is no possibility of applying them,
the person has not performed the stop signals of the police.
