Development Fund for Civil Servants

Application for the Public Service Leaders' Training Fund

The fund's objective is to support heads of state institutions and other senior government officials in Iceland in maintaining and developing their education and competence.

Such heads of state institutions are officials who work for the Icelandic government and have been appointed to office by administrative decision in accordance with the law.

Each head is entrusted with accountability through a letter of appointment from the minister. Heads of state institutions bear extensive responsibilities: accountability for service and results, ensuring operations comply with laws and administrative regulations, and that financial performance aligns with budget allocations based on the fiscal budget.

The Public Service Leaders' Training Fund provides grants for expenses related to education, professional development, training, courses, conferences, or similar knowledge acquisition in line with the fund's objectives. Emphasis is placed on supporting officials to meet the requirements set for civil servants in the government's management policy at any given time.
