Access to Skútan as the legal registration system for seamen
If there is difference between the Icelandic version and the English, the Icelandic version is valid.
A shipowner and/or captain may apply for access to register crew members on a specific vessel. The person who has been granted access to crew registration can log in using electronic ID and register crew members on the vessel.
Processing may take up to 24 hours on business days. Requests are not processed on weekends or public holidays.
It is possible to submit an application for one, two, three, five, or ten access permits at a time. Payment is always made for the number of access permits specified in the application. For example, an “Application for 10 access permits to register crew members on a vessel” will always be charged for 10 access permits.
