Tour Operation Manager (Asia Market) - N66 ehf.
Key Responsibilities
1. Asia Market Tour Operations
* Manage daily tour arrangements for Asian clients and travel agencies.
* Handle tour bookings, hotel reservations, transport arrangements, guides, restaurants, activities, and special requests.
* Coordinate with overseas travel agents, especially from Chinese-speaking and English-speaking markets.
2. Client and Agent Communication
* Communicate with clients, travel agencies, tour leaders, and suppliers in a professional manner.
* Reply to enquiries, quotations, booking confirmations, operational questions, and after-sales matters.
* Preferably communicate in Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
3. Tour Planning and Itinerary Management
* Prepare and review itineraries according to customer requirements.
* Ensure tour programs are practical, attractive, and suitable for Asian travelers.
* Adjust itineraries when needed due to weather, road conditions, supplier changes, or client requests.
4. Supplier Coordination
* Liaise with hotels, restaurants, transport providers, attractions, activity operators, and local guides.
* Negotiate rates, confirm availability, and maintain good supplier relationships.
* Ensure all services are delivered according to company standards.
5. Costing and Budget Control
* Prepare tour costing, budgets, and operational expenses.
* Monitor profit margins and control tour costs.
* Check invoices, supplier charges, and payment details.
6. Tour Execution and Problem Solving
* Oversee tour operation before, during, and after the tour.
* Handle emergencies, complaints, delays, cancellations, and last-minute changes.
* Provide quick and practical solutions to ensure smooth customer experience.
7. Quality Control
* Ensure service quality meets the expectations of Asian clients.
* Collect feedback from clients, tour leaders, and agents.
* Improve tour products, supplier performance, and internal operation procedures.
8. Team Coordination
* Work closely with sales, reservations, accounts, transport, hotel, and ground operation teams.
* Brief guides, drivers, and tour leaders before tour departure.
* Maintain clear internal communication and proper documentation.
Requirements
* Experience in travel agency, inbound tour operation, DMC, hotel, or tourism-related business.
* Strong understanding of Asia market travel behavior, especially group tours.
* Able to communicate in English.
* Ability to communicate in Chinese / Mandarin is strongly preferred.
* Good organization, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
* Able to work under pressure during peak travel seasons.
* Familiar with tour costing, itinerary planning, supplier coordination, and customer service.
* Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tours at the same time.
* Computer literacy, including email, Excel, booking systems, and travel operation platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience handling Chinese-speaking or Asian travel agencies.
* Knowledge of Iceland / Europe travel products is an advantage.
* Experience working with hotels, transport companies, guides, and activity suppliers.
* Ability to speak additional Asian languages is an advantage.
