The pharmaceutical services at Landspítali are looking to recruit a skilled pharmacy technician with a strong service mindset and maintains a positive, professional attitude. We are looking for a pharmacy technician who is flexible, proactive, and ready to take on a variety of tasks. It is desirable that the successful applicant can begin to work as soon as possible, or by agreement.
Approximately 30 pharmacy technicians work in diverse roles at Landspítali. The role of pharmacy technicians at Landspítali is evolving, and exciting times lie ahead. The responsibilities of the pharmaceutical services include servicing all hospital wards through the purchasing and storing medication, preparing, dispensing and distributing medication as well as providing professional drug information through clinical pharmaceutical services.
Pharmaceutical services continuously develop its operations to improve medication safety and medication management at Landspítali.
Main Responsibilities
• Top-up services in medication rooms at clinical wards, including ordering medication and medication management
• Development of service teams within clinical wards
• Filling ward medication orders, communication with clinical departments, and receiving medications from wholesalers
• Compliance with SOP’s and participation in quality improvement work
• Other related tasks as required
Qualification Requirements
• Icelandic certified pharmacy technician license
• Good communication skills, team-oriented, and positive attitude
• Organized, precise, and disciplined work practices
• Ability to work according to quality standards
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy is an advantage
• Good computer skills
• Proficiency in Icelandic
Further Information About the Position. Salary is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and Sameyki.
