Child support payers

Payers resident in Iceland who owe child support payments abroad may contact to the collecting entity in question directly.   

If the claim is owned by any of the Nordic countries, it is also possible to request that the District Commissioner acts as an intermediary in collecting it. A special request to this effect must be sent to the District Commissioner, together with a copy of the letter of claim. The authorities in the Nordic countries also send the claims without request in the event of default in payments. 

The District commissioner cannot handle the collection of claims that arise outside the Nordic countries.
