The objective of the Guidelines on Local Authorities' Road Safety Plans is to raise awareness of road safety issues among community leaders and the general public, and to have a road safety plan that:
is the basis for coordinated and targeted work methods in municipalities
promotes more effective prioritisation of road safety projects
The purpose of the guide is to create a framework for municipalities which can be used to develop road safety plans. The process is described and main points emphasised.
