Reporting of salmon and trout catches

Freshwater Fisheries Associations/owners of fishing rights are obliged to submit information on fishing in their waters to the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute by submission of fishing logbook by electronic submission of catch information.

Freshwater Fisheries Associations/fishing rights holders are obliged to submit information about the catch in their water catchment area in accordance with Article 13 of the Act on Salmon and Trout Fishing.

Catch registration

• All catches must be registered in the electronic fishing logbook of the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute.

• If electronic registration is not possible, the catch must be registered in traditional fishing logbooks.

  • Traditional fishing logbooks are usually available in fishing lodges or at other specified locations.
