Paying a traffic fine

If you get a ticket for a traffic violation, you will receive a notice in your Ísland.is inbox or by mail.

The notice will include the fine amount and details about the violation.

A payment slip will be sent to your online bank.

Discount

You will get a 25% discount if you pay within 30 days.

You can also pay on the spot if a police officer gives you a ticket.

If someone else was driving

If you were not the driver when the violation happened, you must let the police know who was driving the vehicle.

How to dispute a fine

If you want to dispute the fine, you can send a written objection to the police.

It is best to do this as soon as you get the notice.
