First response to an overdose

  1. Call the emergency number 112

  2. If an opioid overdose is suspected, administer naloxone after calling 112

Symptoms of an opioid overdose:

  • Pinpoint pupils

  • Shallow, rattling breathing

  • Blue discoloration of the face

  • Respiratory arrest

Naloxone

Where can I get Naloxone?

  • Free of charge at healthcare facilities that provide harm reduction services

  • From other organizations that provide services to people who use addictive substances

  • Police and ambulance services have naloxone available

Alerts

Alerts are issued regarding counterfeit intoxicating and addictive substances that may pose a threat to people's lives and health.

Alerts are classified as yellow or red according to their severity.

Applies to

Yellow

Risk of harm following use. Rapid tests are ineffective, or there are other reasons to exercise increased caution.

Mild respiratory depressants and/or combinations thereof.

Red

Immediate risk to life / possible deaths if the substance is used instead of conventional substances/medications.

Potent respiratory depressants that act on opioid receptors, e.g. potent nitazene substances, fentanyl, and combinations of potent respiratory depressants.
