The change of ownership of a vehicle is reported on island.is and must take place within 7 days of the sale. The process is as follows:
The seller fills in the notification and pays for registration.
The contracting authority/owner/keeper signs the notification electronically.
The change of ownership is automatically recorded in the vehicle register.
