Eiríkur Jónsson elected Vice-President of the National Court of Justice

At the meeting of the National Court Judge on 23 May 2024, Eiríkur Jónsson was elected Vice-President of the National Court from 1 September 2024 to 1 August 2027.
At the meeting of the Court of Appeal judges, on 23 May 2024, Eiríkur Jónsson was elected Vice-President from 1 September 2024 until 1 August 2027.
He is succeeded as Vice-President by the Court of Appeal judge, Davíð Þór Björgvinsson, who retires at his own request.
Eiríkur was appointed judge at the Court of Appeal in 2019, but until then he worked as the Head of the Faculty of Law at the University of Iceland.
