Holiday and December supplements 2026

20th April 2026

Holiday and December supplements for disability pension, partial disability pension and medical- and rehabilitation allowance have been calculated and the payment plans for individuals entitled to these payments have been updated on My Pages. The holiday supplements will be paid on 1 July and the December supplement on 1 December.

Holiday and December supplements for individuals receiving a disability pension or medical and rehabilitation allowance are a maximum of ISK 137,857 in 2026. Individuals with a partial disability pension may be entitled to 82% of that amount, or ISK 113,043. The holiday supplement is 40% of the amount the person receives, and the December supplement is 60%. The supplements are reduced by 2% of annual income exceeding the general exemption limit for the relevant payment category.

Information on holiday and December supplements for individuals with a disability or partial disability pension can be found here, and for individuals with a medical and rehabilitation allowance here. Answers to frequently asked questions can be found here.

This is a new implementation for calculating holiday and December supplements, which resulted from the introduction of a new system for disability pension and medical and rehabilitation allowance, which took effect on 1 September 2025.
