Holiday and December supplements- Medical and rehabilitation allowance

The holiday and December supplements are a maximum of ISK 137,857 in 2026 for individuals receiving medical and rehabilitation allowance.

The holiday and December supplements are reduced by 2% of income exceeding the general exemption limit. The general exemption limit for medical and rehabilitation allowance is ISK 504,960.

The holiday supplement is 40% of the amount the person is entitled to, and the December supplement is 60%.

The holiday supplement is paid on 1 July and the December supplement on 1 December.

The amount of the holiday and December supplements is calculated according to the number of months in the year for which the person is entitled to the allowance.

You do not need to apply for these supplements; they are calculated automatically for those who are entitled to them.
