Specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry

Structure of learning and progress assessment

Structure of learning

Duration of the approved training (part-time or full-time) 5 years based on 100% work

  • Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department: 42 months (3.5 years) of which

    • 24 months in the outpatient ward

    • 12 months in the outpatient ward

    • 6 months of choice (quality/research project), shifts

  • Adult psychiatric ward: 12 months

  • Children's hospital: 6 months

The program includes:

  • Weekly 45-60 minute sessions with a specialist doctor at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department

  • Half a day a week is for academic studies

  • Participation in a seminar in children and adolescents psychiatry at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department

  • Participation in teaching (medical students) and education for employees at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department

  • Cooperation with other departments and other institutions

  • Hand-in-hand in daily work in wards

Learning and teaching materials have been purchased from Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department.

  • American College of Psychiatrists' Child Psychiatry Resident In Training Examination (CHILD PRITE)

  • Clinical Trial, according to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinical Skills Evaluation (CAP CSV v. 2). American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
