According to Regulation 895/2024, Landspítali holds a procurement permit for purchasing goods and services related to the provision of secondary and tertiary healthcare on behalf of the hospital and other healthcare institutions. The department ensures that proper procedures are followed in public procurement, takes initiative in strategic decisions regarding procurement processes, and leads development work in procurement matters aimed at organizing purchasing and simplifying procurement procedures, with the goal of reducing direct and indirect procurement costs.
Efforts are made to ensure that the hospital’s procurement, product use, and product quality are carried out in a way that always guarantees patient safety in the most cost-effective manner possible.
