The Fund received 93 applications in 2023 and the total amount of grant applications was almost 214 million. Grants were allocated to 74 projects from the Fund this time. The total amount of grants allocated was approximately 118 million ISK. The grant recipients had been informed of the grant granting electronically some time before the allocation. The Landspítali Science Fund provides more than 100 million ISK in scientific grants to Landspítali employees annually. The purpose of the Fund is to support and promote scientific research at the hospital. The Landspítali Science Council is responsible for and oversees professional evaluation of the applications received by the Fund.
