Welcome to the Laboratory Conference on Birth, Women, Children and Family Education (RKB) in Hringsal, Wednesday 22 November from 12 to 16.

  • 12:00 Sentence: Chair of the board of the RKB, Þóra Steingrímsdóttir, obstetrician of birth and gynaecologist and professor Fundarstjóri: Helga Gottfreðsdóttr, midwife and professor

  • 12:10 Main lecture: Berglind Hálfdánsdóttir, midwife and senior lecturer. Running from the system? Women who choose to give birth without assistance

  • 12:40 Íris Kristjánsdóttir, postdoctoral researcher and specialist paediatrician: infectious diseases that can be prevented by vaccinations in children, adolescents and young people in Iceland – is there a need for reform?

  • 13:10 Communication: Name and authors announced later.

  • 13:45 Poster exhibition and lighted tribute: Fourteen posters will be examined and the authors will interview them in coffee class

  • 14:25 News: Title and authors announced later.

  • 15:00 Research Fund RKB: The chair of the fund board, Jóhanna Gunnarsdóttir, obstetrician and gynaecologist and lecturer shall allocate grants to researchers and grant recipients.

The conference is open to all interested parties and is free of charge. The conference provides a forum for active conversation and provides educators, experts and others with opportunities to share knowledge, learn from each other, strengthen professional connections and cooperation in the fields of obstetrics, women's, children and family studies.
