Each year, a conference is held by the National Emergency Services of Iceland, where research and projects that have been done in connection with emergency services in Iceland are presented. There has been a tradition of getting specialists to present their work and research related to the theme of the day.

Acute illness and injuries, violence and mental health problems and other matters that the emergency services are involved in.

• On the day of the emergency, 7 March 2025, the focus will be on the immediate problems of children, acute illnesses and injuries, violence and mental health problems and other matters that the emergency services are handling.

• The day of urgency is not only a harvesting day for research and professional development projects in the emergency services but also an important part of staff’s continuing education.

• The conference is multi-disciplinary and is attended by professionals in the service of critically ill individuals from all over the community.
