Seminar - Wise, Interdisciplinary Dialogue on Drug Safety, Research and Clinical Innovation

In recent years, Landspítali University has collaborated with the University of Iceland in research collaboration with the University of Innsbruck in Austria. The research group has studied medicines that may be a possible cause of development of delirium among different patient groups. The group includes a multinational team of specialists, including many from Iceland, and more than a dozen students have participated in the research.
On 16 September, Professor Anita Weidmann, from the University of Innsbruck, will visit Iceland. A symposium will be held to discuss the results of the research that has already been carried out and the next steps. In addition, two specialist doctors will speak about the uncertainty and the main clinical challenges in this field.
The aim of the symposium is to create a platform for an open dialogue on how to contribute to improved quality and increased safety of patients when it comes to dementia.
