The Electronic Communications Office of Iceland (ECOI) participates in international cooperation in the fields of electronic communications and cybersecurity. This cooperation is based on Iceland’s international commitments and supports secure, reliable, and competitive electronic communications services.

ECOI works with institutions of the European Union through the EEA Agreement and maintains close cooperation with its counterpart authorities in the Nordic countries. This collaboration covers, among other things, the development of regulatory frameworks, the collection and analysis of statistical data, and cybersecurity matters.

ECOI also participates in the work of key international organisations in the fields of electronic communications and cybersecurity. Through this engagement, the Office monitors international developments that may affect the Icelandic electronic communications market.
