The Electronic Communications Office of Iceland (ECOI) plays a key role in the fields of electronic communications and cybersecurity. The organisation oversees the electronic communications market, the cybersecurity of digital infrastructure, and trust services.

It also serves as the advisory coordinating authority for the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure.ECOI works to ensure that electronic communications services are accessible, secure, and cost-effective.

The Office strengthens the resilience of critical infrastructure against cyber threats and promotes greater security and trust in digital communications and transactions.

ECOI also hosts Eyvor NCC-IS, Iceland’s national cybersecurity competence centre. Its mission is to foster secure, trustworthy, and accessible digital infrastructure and services that society can rely on.
