Twice a year, the Electronic Communications Office of Iceland (ECOI) collects information from registered electronic communications providers in Iceland on a range of operational and service-related indicators. Based on these data, ECOI produces statistical reports that provide an overview of key developments, market indicators and major players in the Icelandic electronic communications sector.

The purpose is to improve access to information and increase transparency within the market. ECOI’s statistical reports are prepared in line with similar publications produced by its counterpart regulators in neighbouring countries.

The information can be explored from various perspectives through ECOI’s Data Portal, which provides visual access to key telecommunications data. The Data Portal is organised into four main categories:

• Mobile Networks

• Broadband

• IPTV

• Fixed Networks

These are further divided into nine data sections, allowing users to analyse information by time period, service provider and other criteria.
