Ögmundur Knútsson CEO of the Directorate of Fisheries retires

Ögmundur Knútsson the CEO of the Directorate of Fisheries has asked to be relieved of his duties as of January 15th, 2024.
The Directorate thanks Ögmundur for his work and wishes him well in his new role at the World Bank as "Senior Fisheries Specialist" for West Africa.
Elín Björg Ragnarsdóttir, Director of Surveillance Division and Deputy Director of the Directorate, will perform the duties of CEO for the Directorate of Fisheries until a new person is appointed for the position which will be advertised in the next few days.
Along with these changes, Sævar Guðmundsson will take over the role as director of Surveillance Division from Elín.
